WHO ARE THE SELLERS OF NATURAL GAS
IN DEREGULATED AREAS ?
FIND NATURAL GAS MARKETERS, BUYERS, SELLERS,
AGENTS, AND CONSULTANTS
Companies that sell natural gas come in many shapes and sizes and vary in the scope of their operations. Some companies may offer a full range of natural gas products and services, including consulting, while others may be more limited in their area of expertise. Natural gas companies operate in all states that have deregulated natural gas markets.
Producers of natural gas have in-house marketers that sell natural gas. These companies are generally concerned with selling their own natural gas production as a means of balancing supply and production.
Regional gas companies sell to specific geographic natural gas markets and are often an extension of a local utility.
Aggregators generally gather small volumes from various sources (restaurants, laundromats, shops, etc) and combine them into aggregated volumes that can be resold to other buyers.
Brokers never actually take ownership of any natural gas. Similar to an insurance broker, they simply act as a conduit bringing together buyers and sellers of natural gas.
All natural gas companies must have significant back-office operations. The back-office is responsible for providing support services related to the sale and purchase of natural gas including logistics related to transportation and storage, accounts payable/receivable, and all other activities that are required to finalize natural gas transactions. The overall effectiveness of a company’s back-office often times determines the success or failure of a natural gas company.
